How to choose laminate flooring
It’s important to know that laminate comes in various thicknesses. Plank thickness is measured in millimeters (mm) from the bottom surface that rests on the subfloor to the top of the plank. There are four standard laminate plank thicknesses on the market: 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, and 14mm. This can be a bit deceiving because if a plank has an attached pad, which simply means the underlayment is adhered to each individual plank, you may see a plank thickness of 14mm.
