Hardwood Finish Sheens
There are four levels of hardwood floor finish sheens to select from. The sheen is simply how glossy the floor finish is. The luster level is determined by how much light is reflected off the floor from a 60-degree angle. The glossier you go, the more light reflects off the flooring. Also, the glossier you go, the more dirt, dust, and imperfections show up. Different species of hardwood will produce different sheen levels. Satin finish is one of our most popular options.
Matte
A matte finish has very little sheen but can make the wood look dull. However, many prefer this flat finish, as it gives hardwood a clean look.
Satin
A satin finish has some sheen but does not look glossy. It provides a classic and contemporary look. A satin sheen shows fewer scratches and imperfections. It also tends to look newer longer.
Semi-Gloss
Semi-gloss is a shinier finish but not as impractical as a glossy finish. Semi-gloss does show more dirt and flooring imperfections.
