Spring Bathroom Spruce up with New Tile

Spring has sprung! Or at least there are some signs that perhaps we have seen the last of winter. As we begin to see things in nature change from winter to spring, often something inside of us stirs as well. Whether it’s our wardrobe or home decor, what’s happening in nature seems to push us towards making some changes of our own.
And no better time than the switching of seasons to imagine some changes in your bathroom. Maybe the longer days have shed some light on updates and improvements needed like the outdated or boring tile in your bathroom.
Out with the old in with the new. If you have an older home, you may notice cracking, discoloration, or loose tiles. If that is the case, it is definitely time for extreme spring cleaning. If a bathroom update is on your to do list this spring, here are three tile trends that will spruce up any bathroom this year.

Large Tile
Tiny mosaic tiles are fun but consider making way for a larger format style for your spring bathroom remodel. Think big slabs of tile with fewer grout lines, which means less cleaning. This format will greatly impact the look and feel of a bathroom and is perfect for a shower or tub surround.
Pairing the large tiles with stone like materials will create a comforting aesthetic for a space meant to promote relaxation. Or work in smaller tiles between the large ones for a dramatic effect.
Wood Look Tile
Porcelain and ceramic continue to be one of the most popular tile options for bathrooms. Both boast of versatility with an assortment of patterns, colors, and sizes to choose from. They are also durable, moisture resistant, and easy to clean and maintain. This spring, consider porcelain and ceramic that mimics natural hardwood finishes.
This style keeps with the trend that we saw emerge in 2020 of bringing nature elements indoors and incorporating them into the features of home design. You get all the warmth and texture of hardwood with the durability and waterproof features of tile.
Subway Tile
Subway tiles are a tried-and-true choice for bathroom design and are as popular as ever. They are incredibly durable and won’t break the bank. Expect to see subway tile in a new way this spring as this traditional shaped tile becomes available in thicker and longer sizes. As the beloved subway tile breaks from the traditional, they’re now available in more colors and patterns. Subway tile is a great replacement for outdated square tiles popular from the sixties through the eighties. Not to mention, it is a staple in the popular farmhouse style decor.
The color grout you choose can dramatically change the effect and create a custom look. For example, a black grout will accent the shape and the highlight the subway tile as a focal point while choosing a white grout allows the tile to fade to the background and results in a subtle look. Spring Forward with New Tile
Spring is in the air and it’s a great time to start a bathroom renovation project before summer is in full swing. With large format tiles, faux hardwood tile, and subway tile in a variety of colors and sizes, you can find the perfect style to update that aging, ugly tile you’ve been living with in your bathrooms. Make a statement this spring with bold, new tile.
